To be honest this was a bad match up for Silva, and a match she shouldn’t have won. Chael is just too aggressive and controlling on the ground. But at the same time after watching a few of Silva’s previous fights this morning, I have to say that rib injury was real, because his upper body movement was almost non-existant against chael and he looked like a shadow of himself on the feet, none of the usual explosiveness was seen at all. I would love to see a rematch when both guys are healthy.
@MMAInsight Yeah I do agree with that. What I really didn’t understand though was he just kept taking punishment, he wasn’t even blocking the entire fight when he got taken down, he just kept getting hit like it wasn’t even affecting him or anything. Yeah, I get what you mean by his overconfidence that he has in all of his fights, he got hit with one big shot, then after that it was just relentless shots over and over by Sonnen, but yeah, I understand where you’re coming from.
@MMAInsight Yeah, hey what do you think of this match-up, I was thinking about it and I really think that this guy can beat Anderson Silva and has a better chance than Sonnen did. What do you think of Rashad Evans’s chances against Silva? He has a very good wrestling base like Chael did, better striker than Sonnen, very quick, plus he has a black belt in BJJ. What would you think of Evans against Silva, I would probably actually favor Rashad to be honest.
@bcmvp11 Well he was trying to get head control on Sonnen but, then he just let him keep posturing up and letting him rain downs punches, and elbows on him. Sonnen’s just control on top is so good, and his ground an pound is so relentless it’s hard to block his punches. He has all the right to be overconfident but, it cost him here somewhat in the fight with Sonnen and could in a fight with Belfort.
@bcmvp11 You bring up a interesting match-up there bro. I’ll message you tho these comments are tallying up fast, and am running out of room on them to try to explain what I’m saying since I only have 500 characters to do so.
